What is Import Export Code (IEC)?
The Import Export Code (IEC) is a unique 10-digit identification number issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India, to individuals or businesses engaged in import or export of goods or services.
IEC is mandatory for carrying out international trade in India and is used by customs authorities, banks, and export promotion councils to monitor and regulate foreign trade transactions.
